We were immensely honoured to have one of our engraved memorial benches featured on the BBC's The One Show in a touching segment about remembrance and "Celebration Day".

The feature, presented by Gloria Hunniford, told the story of Gemma and her family, who chose a personalised bench to honour her father, Alec, who passed away suddenly. Placed at a meaningful beach location they often visited, the bench has become a vital focal point for their grieving and remembrance journey.

The segment beautifully captured the essence of what a memorial bench truly represents, a place of comfort, family continuity, and lasting memory. The family shared their heart warming tradition of decorating Alec's bench for Christmas, Father's Day and birthdays, saying it gives them the feeling that he is "still so involved" in their lives.

A Hero Comes Home ~ Memorial Bench Honours Falklands Sailor John Stroud

Memorial Benches UK was deeply honoured to be part of an incredible surprise memorial project for John Stroud, the only Boltonian sailor killed in the Falklands War 40 years ago.

Unveiled in a local churchyard in Dunscar, the personalised memorial bench brings a tangible tribute closer to home for John's widow, Jean Stroud-Mort, who was overwhelmed by the community's gesture. Jean expressed her comfort that, through the bench, people will never forget her husband's sacrifice.
